Rejecting God’s Gifts

Do you reject God’s gifts that He has given you?  You must be wondering how do you reject God’s gifts?  You must be saying…. It’s not possible, you would love to receive from God.

Well many of us reject God’s gifts because they did not come wrapped the way they wanted or the gift came in a way that was not expected; Or you were too proud to receive the gift because it was wrapped in humility.

You are not alone, even the Israelites rejected the gift that was wrapped in swaddling clothes and born in a manger, to two very normal below average citizens of Israel.  They expected the said Messiah, to be from a wealthy recognized family and to come with great political clout and to run the Romans out of Israel.

Because the gift did not come the way they expected it.  They rejected Jesus as the son of God and as their Saviour. Yet He came not just to save the Israelites from the Romans, but to save us all from our Roman way of life.

The Jews rejected Jesus as their Saviour & Messiah; Yet He came not just to save the Israelites from the Romans but save us all from our Roman way of life.

Receive God’s gift this Christmas, remember the reason for the season is Jesus Christ was born.  May He be born again in your hearts and may you receive Him as the gift that always gives.

Ps 118:22 The stone which the builders rejected, Has become the chief cornerstone.
Matt 21: 42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’
Mk 6:4 But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.

2020 Blessings To Count

It has been an interesting year, I keep saying 2020 will be the year of tales.  When in the near future the older people will say in those days we were….. and they will give the stories of the unprecedented happenings that took place in the year 2020.  That said I still believe that there is always a silver lining in the cloud.  There is always something to be grateful for, even with all the chaos around us.

So each day count the blessings given to you by God.  Eyes to admire His wonders, a nose to enjoy the wonderful scents of nature,  Ears to hear the unique sounds of nature, a heart to love, a smile to brighten someone’s day and so much more.  One thing that this Covid pandemic has taught us, is to treasure the small pleasures of life & to remind us that life is more than things, places, & movement.

What’s even more amazing to know is that He sent us His only son to the world for the good of mankind.  This December season, we remember His birth, truly this is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.

The Covid pandemic has taught us to treasure the small pleasures of life & reminded us that life is more than things, places & movement.  So each day count the blessings given to you by God.

Celebrate each day as it passes by & remember to thank the Lord for the blessings you have received so far.  Have a lovely day.

Ps 116:12  What shall I render to the LORD, For all His benefits toward me?
Ps 103:2  Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits
Ps 105:1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Eph 5:20  Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Thes 5:16-18  Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Being Right ‘N’ Wrong All at once

You could be right & have all the right reasons to be angry, offended and not happy with how someone said or did something to you; But you could be wrong by how you responded or reacted to whatever they said or did to offend you.

You may have been hurt, offended, misunderstood and much more; But how you respond to the bad can make you worse or better.  You know you can be very right yet very wrong all at once.  Be careful how you speak it or put it forward when you have been hurt.

The good book says do not speak when you are angry.  It also says turn the other cheek.  I believe this is a response not to good but bad outcomes.  Responding in the same way you have been dished doesn’t help any situation.  We have been told by experts to count to ten, take a deep breathe, walk away before you respond to someone when you are angry or offended.  Basically before you respond to any negativity that has been served to you, ensure you are not as negative as what you were served, because that will be a recipe for a disaster.

Before you respond to any negativity that has been served to you, ensure you are not as negative as what was dished out, that’s a recipe for a disaster

Jms 1: 19-20 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
Eph 4: 26-27 Be angry, and do not sin do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
Pro 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath ,But a harsh word stirs up anger.

Pro 19:11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,  And his glory is to overlook a transgression
Pro 16:32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city

The Predictable yet Unpredictable God

God does not do anything at random or with feelings, He is a God of order.  Imagine if He did not feel like having the sun rise at 6am but instead it rose at 10am.  What do you think would happen?  Imagine if God acted the way we do?  How sometimes we don’t feel like!  Thank God He is never changing, a constant never led by feelings.

He does everything in order, in a particular way and structure but the one thing that is amazing about God, is that He has a routine; but He is very dynamic about how He goes about what He does.  The sun rises and sets everyday from the same directions but the sun does not rise and set in the same way.

What fascinates me about God is that He knows each and every person on earth by name and knows how many hairs are on their head.  That is amazing, that He is able to keep up with all of us and nothing takes Him by surprise.  He’s truly the all knowing God.   Even in the midst of all the crazy, good, & bad happenings He is fully aware and in control of it all.  Amazingly Almighty God.

So why I say He’s predictable is because, He has already told us what will happen, the bible is full of His prophecies, promises, curses, do’s and don’ts and we are the ones to decide what to apply in our lives.  The word of God says He’s answers are yes and Amen.  So generally I would know what to expect if I do something wrong and I know what to expect if I do something right.  Now on the other hand I don’t know what tomorrow will be like, that’s too far I don’t know what the next 5 minutes will be like.  The word of God tells us that, He’s thoughts are far greater than ours and His ways far higher than ours.  So as much as I may know what to expect, I totally don’t know how my expectations will be fulfilled or delivered, how they will be brought out, how they will be presented.  Then He becomes unpredictable.  All I know is God is Good, He will answer and He is in Total Control.  That is predictable but how He goes about it on the other hand is very unpredictable.

God does everything in order in a particular way and structure & as much as I may know what to expect, I totally don’t know how my expectations will be fulfilled.

Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Ps 115:3 But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases
Isa 55: 8-9 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.  Isa 48:28 The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable
