THE LOSE OF A GREAT MAN – MAJOR GENERAL OLE NKAISSERY

We have lost a great man, Major General Ole Nkaissery a mighty warrior.
Our condolences & prayers go to the family at this time.
God’s peace, comfort & strength be upon them.

At this time I’m reminded of the following versus,
as a nation that is mourning a great lose
I remember what David a great warrior of old
& others have said.
Some may trust in horses, some may trust in chariots
but we will trust in the name of our God. Ps 20:7

Be warned when you trust in chariots and the horsemen
because they are strong & do not look to the Lord God. Is 31:1

Not by might, not by power but my Spirit says the Lord of hosts. Zec 4:6
I look to the hills where does my help come from. My help comes from
the Lord the maker of heaven and earth Ps 121:1-2
Unless the Lord guards over the city, the watchman stays up in vain Ps 127:1
The Lord allows us to plan but ultimately He is the one who executes.
A man’s heart plans his way,But the LORD directs his steps. Pro 16:9
There are many plans in a man’s heart,Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel
that will stand Pro 19:21

Remember the Lord is sovereign & He reigns over us all.
He has the power to give and to take but He is to be glorified at all times.
Kenya – Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord & in due time
He will lift you up. Casting all your care upon Him,
for He cares for you 1Pet 5:6-7

Prayer:
Lord forgive us for relying on our plans and on our might, guide Kenya at
this time, watch over us and direct our steps. Lord Kenya needs You to show
Yourself and to continue to remind us that You are God the Lord of Hosts..
The Lord our warrior. When faced with a giant situation, like David
said to the Goliath, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear,
and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts,
the God of the armies of Kenya, 1 Sam 17:45. Let us remember to
face our giant situations, with the name of the Lord of Hosts.
Lord be our defender & protector at this time.
As our National Anthem states: Ee Mungu Nguvu yetu
In Jesus Name Amen.

YOU ARE THE SALT & LIGHT

Mat 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor,
how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to
be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

Mat 5:16
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Jesus called us the salt and light of the earth.
These are two interesting descriptions, I decided to look further at
some of the functions of each and explain

The functions of Salt

To give taste & flavour
As one who gives flavour & taste one needs to remain relevant in
this ever changing culture, Christ followers need to remain
consistent & dynamic all at the same time.

To preserve
As relevance is important preserving the good & the important things
is just as important, as salt preserves and keeps fresh. Christ’s followers
need to keep fresh and preserve the good aspects of our culture.

To sterilize or kill germs
In case of a wound salt is used to clean the wound this is unpleasant and can
sting but it needs to be done in order to heal a wound. As Christ’s followers
we need to know when to clean the wounds in our culture even when its
unpleasant and give it a chance to heal.

The functions of Light

To expose or illuminate
Light is used to bring out what is hidden, light is necessary in order
to see what is around. As Christians we are to be the light, to be able to
bring out what is hidden and light the world around us for the glory of God.

To direct & guide
When in a journey light is needed to guide in dark places so that
one can reach their destination. As Christians we are to be the light that
gives direction like a light house in the ocean and guide many to safety in the Lord.

To penetrate
Light in the form of a laser can penetrate without causing much harm to the body.
Like the laser treatment for eyes the use of light to operate is said to be a
revolution and healing is faster for the body. As Christians our light should
penetrate the sick parts of our world to remove the blindness and help heal it
faster without causing much harm.

This is a high calling that only God can give you the strength to fulfill.
Be the salt & Light where you are located.

IN THE BEGINNING

In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God that’s what John in the bible says. We are told that God formed the world by His words and He made man in the bible in Genesis. In the same way He formed the world with His words, He can form your world by His word. It is everlasting, ever powerful when applied and it is sharper than a two edged sword that cuts the bone and the marrow. His word is the one thing that never changes & the one thing that He guarantees to perform when spoken. He is the God who is the beginning and the the end, yet He has no end nor does He have a beginning and He does not live in the confines of time, He is infinite.

Amazing God He is and it is only in Him we can live and be fully fulfilled even in this world that is not perfect as He would have wanted but He was gracious to have a plan that would redeem us in the end. Truly God is the Master planner and gracious Lover of us all.

As the year begins let us begin with Him as our Master planner and gracious Lover who will be with us throughout this next season and get ready to be amazed at the journey that He will take us through.

As a Master planner He thinks ahead and goes before, preparing the way I will go even before I get there. I just have to trust Him, obey Him, believe in Him and follow His lead.

I know He will lead & guide me to what is good for me and He will direct my paths and make what is crooked straight; with Him I will always have a new start everyday not just every year, for His mercies are new every morning & He is faithful even when I’m not; not that I want to be unfaithful, but when I am I know He is gracious and loving.

Its a new day, a new year, a new season may His word be the compass and the builder of my life & yours.
Have a Happy new year.

What Money Cant Buy

There’re numerous things that money can buy
We are told money Answers Everything
Ecc 10:19 A feast is made for laughter,
And wine makes merry;
But money answers everything.

But there’s something that money can’t buy
Somethings that we need to earn and can’t
buy our way to get them.

You need to earn respect:
It’s not about a title because respect is not about
entitlement. Its about your character

You need to earn Honour:
You may come from an influential family
but that doesn’t guarantee you honour
It’s about your character

We are told that a good name is precious
Pro 22:1 A good name is to be chosen rather
than great riches, Loving favor rather
than silver and gold.

Choose what you will earn &
how you will earn it.
Character is the currency of exchange for
Respect & Honour
With them comes a good name.

Raise your voice in Worship

The earth is the Lords & all that’s in it, the sun & moon shine all day.
The trees swing and sway as the wind blows its unknown way.
The rivers flow the oceans & seas rise and fall.
The birds sing His sweet melody all in worship of Him.
Let us raise our voice in praise of the great I Am & worship
Him who made & formed the earth whose breath,
we breathe & life we live, praise Him He is worthy of
our worship, rest in His presence.

He knows, hears and answers. You are worth more than
the sparrow, you were bought at a very high price
you are a precious rare jewel.

KENYA LITERALLY DYING FROM CORRUPTION

Kenya is a nation currently at war and we are blaming the infamous Alshabab for all the madness and insecurity that we are facing. Like our President and others mentioned at a recent prayer breakfast, we need to reflect on ourselves. We need to take a good look at the man in the mirror like Micheal Jackson said. Corruption has embodied itself, it has evolved and is now literally killing us in the form of Alshabab. We are dying because we are corrupt and have allowed corruption to thrive among us, now we are insecure, afraid wondering why what is happening?

If we do not root out this corruption we are going to die, like a cancer we allowed corruption to become malignant and now it is an over grown cancer that is killing us slow but sure. The medical way of dealing with cancer is very harsh and hard. Many who have gone through it, can tell you its a process, a long painful, tedious & uncertain journey; but many have taken it and have conquered and come through victorious, while others have not.

As a nation we need to get on to the path of recovery and although it is difficult by the grace of God we can make it through. We need to deal with corruption like cancer and root it out. Although its painful its necessary; cancer has a way of recurring if not dealt with properly. We cannot give up or give in we need to stand strong and remove this thing that is killing our loved ones. I strongly believe that if we deal with corruption at all levels, from the lowest to the highest; Alsahab, insecurity and all other issues we are having will fade away.

Our corruptness is not only in government so stop pointing that finger at them; remember when you point one finger at them the other three point back at you. To do business in Kenya its the norm to give facilitation fees, ‘agency comm’, buy lunch, strike a deal etc there’re many names for taking a bribe other than just calling it what it is a bribe. Because of this we are now insecure and afraid; we want to be productive but a goat and a hyena cannot dwell in one house. What can we do, What can I do?

Isa 33:14-15  The sinners in Zion are afraid; Fearfulness has seized the hypocrites:“Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?”He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly,He who despises the gain of oppressions,Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes,Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from seeing evil: (Know that the Lord is a devouring fire)

Kenyan are you ready and willing to weed out this cancer, however uncomfortable and painful it may be?

Our fathers fought colonization we now need to fight corruption,
yes we are at war & as much as Alshabab are involved, we really are
at war with corruption.

Kenyan just know your life and that of the next generation depends
on what you choose to do now.

EACH DAY

Each day count the blessings given to you by God.
Eyes to admire His wonders, a nose to enjoy
the wonderful scents of nature, a heart to love,
hands to hug your loved ones, a smile to
brighten someones day and so much more.

What’s even more amazing to know is that
He sent us His only son to the world for
the good of mankind.

This is the day that the Lord has made
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Celebrate each day as it passes by & remember to thank
the Lord for the blessings you have received so far.
Have a lovely day.
